The Polk County Extension Center recognized Extension Master Gardener Bob Mischler (left) for contributing 600 hours of volunteer service to the citizens of Polk County.

Extension Master Gardener Bob Mischler reached a milestone earlier this year. Mischler completed his 600th hour of volunteer service to the homeowners and gardeners in Polk County in early 2014. He has served as an active Master Gardener for past 16 years.
“Bob was a graduate in our first Master Gardener class in 1998,” said John Vining, Polk County Extension Director. “We are fortunate to have a dedicated volunteer like Bob in our program. After completing our Extension Service course, he has been advising local gardeners ever since.”
Bob Michler and his wife, Barbara moved to Polk County in 1989. In addition to volunteering in the Extension Master Gardener program, Mischler was a board member of the Polk County 4-H & Youth Foundation where he served two three-year terms with the foundation.
