Tryon Fine Arts Center receives intern grant

Thanks to the Polk County Community Foundation, Tryon Fine Arts Center will offer an Arts Administration position this summer for a student interested in learning new skills in all areas of Arts Administration. This is an opportunity for a rising sophomore, junior or senior to work closely with Tryon Fine Arts Center staff and board in preparing brochures, tickets, programs, and press releases for the upcoming 2014-2015 performing arts season, as well as performing general administrative work.
Students must be enrolled in high school or involved in a home school program at the time of the application and be at least 16 years old. They must have permanent residence in the area served by the Polk County Community Foundation (Polk County and Landrum zip code 29356).
Past internships have been provided through funds from PCCF at TFAC in both technical theater and PR and marketing. Technical interns learned lighting, sound and rigging aspects of producing through work summer youth theater shows. PR and Marketing interns have played a vital role in creating marketing materials, working with the website, and working with the public.
Tryon Fine Arts Center will be accepting applications until May 27. Interviews will take place May 28-30 with work starting June 11.
