This is the second of two required public hearings to discuss and receive public comment on funds available through NC State Community Development Block Grant programs for assistance with infrastructure and economic development.

The public hearing was advertised in the Tryon Daily Bulletin. Paula Kempton, Isothermal Planning & Development Commission Community & Economic Development Services Director, will present the information.  Page 1.

Regularly scheduled meeting

Call to Order of the Regular Meeting – Chair Owens

Invocation – Rev. Larry A. Romich, senior pastor of Mt. Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church in Tryon.

Pledge of Allegiance

Approval of Agenda – Agenda items may be added and/or deleted at this time. Motion to approve.

Approval of minutes – Approval of the Feb. 17, 2014, public hearing and regular meeting minutes.  Motion to approve.

NC State Community Development Block Grant Programs – White Oak Waterline Project Grant Application – To consider approval of the application subsequent to the two required public hearings.  Motion to approve.

2013 Delinquent Taxes – Melissa Bowlin, tax administrator, will report on 2013 unpaid taxes.  The board will need to charge Bowlin to advertise and collect these taxes by any and all means.

Position reclassification request – Melissa Bowlin is requesting the reclassification of a full-time assistant tax appraiser position to a full-time tax customer service representative position.

Polk County Transportation System Safety Program Plan – Dianne Timberlake, Transportation Director, will be present to answer questions.

Volunteer Board for Vote – Appearance Commission – two applications, three regular vacancies.

Volunteer Boards for Review – Board of Equalization & Review – five applications, five regular vacancies; Isothermal Planning & Development Commissioner – one application, one regular vacancy; Nursing Home Advisory Committee – one application, two regular vacancies.
