The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will meet at the Tryon Youth Center on Rt. 176N on Sunday, Jan. 26 at 10:30 a.m.
The speaker will be Reverend Sally Beth Shore.
Her topic will be “My Brother’s Keeper.”
“Most of us want to be of service to others, but it is not always easy to tell when or how we can best do that. When we see others in distress, what is our obligation? What guidance, if any, does our faith offer?
“Sometimes, ‘helping’ really is a paradox, and may do more harm than good. How we navigate the conflict between being true to ourselves and compassionate towards others will be the topic for this service.”
All are invited to come early to help create a spiritual surrounding and to share in fellowship and refreshments.
