The club ended the season with a luncheon at Olive Garden in Fletcher, N.C.,
to discuss plans for the next season; then the group went to BB Barns where they made purchases for their personal gardens.
Later that month, the club received a call that attention was needed with the flower boxes in front of Operation Hope. Many of the ladies were off to their summer vacation spots or to spend time with family.
Francine Costner, president of the garden club, Phelicia Corpening and Janie Giles were able to meet and do some replanting of the boxes.
It was a wonderful day as many shoppers stopped to chat and that is the beauty of a small town, such as Landrum, always warm and inviting. The club ended its project with lunch at the Harvest House.
Mid-September the club had its first meeting at Campbell’s Covered Bridge. They enjoyed a picnic lunch prepared by Joyce Prince and Charlotte Hamrick. Joe Hamrick was the guest speaker and he shared some history about Campbell’s Covered Bridge.
