Harmon Field was vandalized last weekend with a flag pole being overturned and the flag ripped. Other acts of vandalism that have taken place at Harmon Field have included windows broken at the open air gym and the community center and flags torn up at the putting green. Harmon Field Parks and Recreation Supervisor George Alley says money is being raised for surveillance cameras to help deter vandals from destroying facilities at the park. Half of the costs for the cameras has already been granted by the Polk County Community Foundation. Donations for surveillance cameras can be sent to Tryon Town Hall.
