Polk County High School’s varsity and junior varsity baseball teams rolled over Avery County last Thursday, March 22. The varsity Wolverines won 2-0, while the JV team won with their own shutout of 10-0. Varsity’s winning pitcher was Dylan Turner pitching just over six innings with no runs from Avery. Leading hitters were Joel Booker and Turner, who both went 2-for-3. Polk varsity is 5-4 and 3-0 in the Western Highland Conference. The team played East Rutherford Monday night.
