March 23, 2011 session
In Polk County District Court held on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 with Judge Athena F. Brooks presiding, 86 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.
The following persons were convicted of a crime (names are as given in court records):
Karen Phillips Byrd was convicted of two counts of possession of stolen goods. Byrd was sentenced to 120 days at the N.C. Department of Corrections.
Mathew Colton Carroll was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce and failure to appear on misdemeanor. Carroll was fined $50 and court costs.
Richard Gerald Cyr was convicted of level 4 driving while impaired. Cyr was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 48 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.
Darryl James Faulkner was convicted of level 2 driving while impaired. Faulkner was sentenced to one year supervised probation, 10 days in jail, a $300 fine and court costs.
Umair Usman Ghani was convicted of speeding 91 mph in a 65 mph zone. Ghani was fined $100 and court costs.
Cynthia Alley McCombs was convicted of driving while license revoked. McCombs was fined $100 and court costs.
Ralph Shane Pace was convicted of failure to appear on misdemeanor. Pace was to pay court costs.
Jonathon Putnam was convicted of communicating threats. Putnam was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for time served.
Jeffrey Tyler Queen was convicted of driving while license revoked and reckless driving to endanger. Queen was fined $150 and court costs.
Oscar Garci Rodriguez was convicted of operating a vehicle with no operator’s license. Rodriguez was fined $50 and court costs.
Jack Emmett Stallings was convicted of driving while license revoked. Stallings was sentenced to 14 days in jail with credit for time served.
Tonya Lynn Tesseneer was convicted of failure to burn headlamps. Tesseneer was sentenced to pay court costs.
Whittingham Trammell was convicted of possession of malt beverage/unfortified wine by 19/20 year old. Trammell was sentenced to pay court costs.
Brandon Michael Warren was convicted of speeding 44 mph in a 35 mph zone. Warren was fined $60 and court costs.
Rance Edwin Yeomans, Jr. was convicted of misdemeanor larceny. Yeomans was sentenced to 30 days in jail.
March 25, 2011 session
In Polk County District Court held on Friday, March 25, 2011 with Judge Pete Knight presiding, 44 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.
The following persons were convicted of a crime (names are as given in court records):
Xan M. Anagnos was convicted of speeding 44 mph in a 35 mph zone. Anagnos was fined $40 and court costs.
Roger D. Bartlett was convicted of driving while license revoked. Bartlett was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation and court costs.
Tabitha Ann Cox was convicted of second degree trespassing. Cox was sentenced to pay court costs.
Lori Elizabeth Field was convicted of level 5 driving while impaired. Field was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.
Dax Tyrell Norris was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia and three counts of aiding underaged person in the purchase of alcohol by over 21-year-old. Norris was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, a $100 fine and court costs.
Thomas Jeffrey Willard was convicted of level 1 driving while impaired. Willard was sentenced to 24 months supervised probation, 30 days in jail and court costs.
