LANDRUM—The Emerson Rose Heart Foundation has recently announced its 15th annual Golfing with Heart Tournament will take place this year at a new and breathtaking venue: The Cliffs at Glassy golf course in Landrum.
The Emerson Rose Heart Foundation is a public charity, started in August 2011 by Jason and Susan Smith of Clemson, SC, following the death of their first child, Emerson Rose Smith, from a congenital heart defect.
As one of the foundation’s largest fundraising events of the year, the tournament brings together heart warriors, community members, supporters, and golf enthusiasts to raise critical funds in support of congenital heart defect awareness, research, and family support services.

“More than ever, I am so excited for our day as we share our mission to impact heart children, raise the funds that are essential for this mission, and have some fun on this beautiful mountain golf course,” said David Eill, Executive Director of the Emerson Rose Heart Foundation. “Thank you to all our wonderful supporters who champion our cause!”
Sponsorship opportunities are still available, and local businesses and individuals are encouraged to get involved in supporting this meaningful cause.
The Foundation’s mission is to change the future for those affected by congenital heart defects, sharing the love and hope of Jesus Christ. This is accomplished by providing support to families in need, advancing patient care and medical research, and increasing awareness about the most common birth defect worldwide. The foundation serves an average of 400 families each year in the Carolinas.
