Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

TRYON—Shakespeare & Friends will host a free, family-friendly, and interactive outdoor production of Shakespeare’s beloved comedy, A Midsommars Night Dream, on Saturday, June 28, and Sunday, June 29. Performances will be at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. each day at Rogers Park in Tryon.

This original ninety-minute adaptation, written and directed by Michelle Newman, transforms the park into a stage where the audience moves with the story, encountering scenes and characters along a scenic trail. With fairy royalty, lovestruck teens, mischievous sprites, and bumbling actors colliding in a swirl of magic and laughter, this immersive version brings the timeless tale to life in a way that’s perfect for all ages.

The production features a dynamic cast of fourteen performers, combining local favorites and new regional talent. Designed to delight both seasoned theatergoers and first-time Shakespeare audiences, the show invites optional audience participation and encourages attendees to walk, explore, and enjoy the surprises waiting around each corner.
