In a collaborative effort, the Chamber is joining the WNC Open for Business movement, established by the Western North Carolina Chamber Business Coalition and Governor Josh Stein. This hashtag initiative highlights the resilience of local businesses and promotes tourism as the region enters the summer season. Participating businesses can simply add #WNCOpenForBusiness to their social media posts to get involved.

“This is a fun way to bring awareness and support to our members and towns,” said Chamber Marketing Manager Olivia Whiteside. “Even though we faced challenges due to the hurricane, we want to show that we are resilient and in need of continued support.”

Members can submit video clips individually or collaborate with fellow businesses. Participating is not limited to North Carolina, as the Chamber encourages members from South Carolina to join in the efforts. Videos can be creative or straightforward, but should always include the names of the businesses or organizations being promoted.

“The best way to support us now is to visit our towns, send your friends and family to our restaurants and boutiques, and spread the word about your positive experiences,” Whiteside said. She added that positive word of mouth remains one of the most effective ways to promote growth for local businesses.

The Carolina Foothills Chamber of Commerce represents the business communities of Tryon, Landrum, Columbus, and Saluda. Interested members can find more information and links to submit their videos by visiting carolinafoothillschamber.com.
