LANDRUM—In a generous initiative to help those in need, Carolina Cars, located at 102 W. Coleman St., is giving away a free car to a deserving individual or family. The giveaway is open to anyone who likes and shares the announcement on the company’s Facebook page, expresses their need for a vehicle, or identifies a family who could benefit from transportation.

Austin Moore, the owner of Carolina Cars, said, “Transportation is a necessity in today’s world. Cars are expensive, and I really want this car to be a blessing to a family that needs it.” 

Moore hopes the vehicle, a 2008 Nissan Sentra with 149,000 miles on it, will provide reliable daily transportation for the winner. His inspiration for the giveaway stemmed from his desire to support the community, and he was motivated by his faith in God to undertake the giveaway. 

“I’ve always wanted to give away a car, and when I came across this one, I thought it would be perfect for this purpose,” he shared. “We’ve done our due diligence by putting on new tires and brakes and changing the oil. We’re also covering the sales tax and title for the winner.”

Participants must comment on Facebook detailing why they or someone they know deserves to win the vehicle. Moore stated that those who do not have a Facebook account can still enter the giveaway by calling the dealership directly. However, he prefers the social media approach for its ease of tracking entries and maintaining communication.
