PCSO welcomes dozens of local kids to annual camp

Polk County Sheriff’s Office recently welcomed over 80 children at the annual Kids and Cops Summer Kickoff Camp

COLUMBUS—This year, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office welcomed over 80 children for a fantastic week of swimming, fishing, bowling, and building camaraderie between kids and deputies at the annual Kids and Cops Summer Kickoff Camp.

Lt. Martin, Polk County School Resource Deputy, emphasized the resilience of these kids, especially after the challenges they faced with Hurricane Helene. 

“We were excited to kick off summer with them again this year,” he said

PCSO thanks everyone who made the event possible for Polk County kids: Columbus First Baptist Church, El Campesino, Polk County School District and bus drivers, Isothermal Community College, Autumn Bowling Lanes, Cooper Riis, Adair Gun & Rod, Absolute Property Management, NC Probation and Parole, and Bojangles-Columbus Location.
