Recognized as Tryon’s most popular music series, Summer Tracks runs June through August and features six concerts highlighting a variety of talent.

Burdett, a celebrated singer-songwriter, has been named one of Western North Carolina’s most important musicians by WNC Magazine. His songwriting accolades include top honors from MerleFest, the USA Songwriting Competition, Mountain Stage, the NC Songwriter’s Co-op, and Our State magazine.

“A lot of great male voices have come from North Carolina, including Eric Church, James Taylor, Randy Travis, and Don Williams,” wrote Rick Amburgey in No Depression, a roots music journal. “Aaron Burdett has proven that his name needs to be added to that list.”

Burdett’s last four albums were voted among the top 20 Albums of the Year by WNCW listeners. In 2022, he joined the Grammy Award-winning Steep Canyon Rangers. For this performance, his band includes Laura Ray (banjo, guitar, vocals), James Kylen (drums), and Mike Ashworth (bass).

All Summer Tracks concerts begin at 7 p.m. In case of rain, performances move indoors to the Tryon Fire Department across the street. Food and drinks are available for purchase, with Huckleberry’s providing refreshments on June 6, July 11, and Aug. 22, and Chef Sharone on June 20, July 25, and Aug. 8. Alcohol is permitted in the park but will not be sold on-site.

Admission is free, but a $10 suggested donation, along with many local business and individual sponsors, make these shows possible.

The season continues on June 20 with the Anya Hinkle Band. Other featured acts include Reedy River String Band, Ashley Heath and Her Heathens, The Feels, and Amanda Anne Platt & The Honeycutters.

Rogers Park is located at 55 W. Howard St. Full schedule, performer bios, and additional details are available at www.summertracks.com.
