COLUMBUS—A Zoning Board of Adjustment public hearing regarding a proposed event center in the Red Fox area is scheduled for June 3 at 5 p.m. at Bryant H. Womack Justice Building in Columbus.
Property owner Joseph Kilpatrick applied for a Special Use Permit for the development, which is located at 106 Club Rd, Tryon, the previous Red Fox Golf Course and Country Club. The property is within the Multiple Use Zoning district and is comprised of 12.52 acres..
The proposed event venue would be facing lakeside, while the present building on-site will be used as a real estate office, and another will be demolished to hold space for a future applicant housing site. The estimated cost for the project is $1.75 million.
According to site maps of the proposed development, the event venue will have 25 parking spaces and will be approximately located where the original Club House once stood, which burned down in 2011.
More information regarding the proposal will be shared at the public hearing. The Womack Building at 40 Courthouse Street.
