TRYON—Photographer Corrie Woods will present “Beyond the Lens: From Guitars to Nature” at the next Live@Lanier event, set for Wednesday, June 18, at 1 p.m. Woods describes the program as “a mix of simple tips, reflections of ‘ah-ha’ moments, and the stories behind some of my favorite images.”
Her photos for Lichty Guitars have received an Honorable Mention in the International Photography Awards and have been featured in Acoustic Guitar Magazine, Ukulele Magazine, WNC Magazine, and elsewhere, but the Tryon photographer says, “Nature photography is my passion.” She remembers her first image taken while backpacking in Wyoming at age 14.
“I wanted badly to capture the vastness and save that moment. Nature photography has allowed me to experience nature in a deeper way,” she says.
In this Felburn Nature and Wildlife Series Program, Woods will share why she considers the most important moment in photography comes before taking the photograph, whether it’s a luthier, moth, hawk, or fox.
The program is free to the public.
Lanier Library is located at 72 Chestnut Street. For more information, call (828) 859-9535 or visit thelanierlibrary.com.
