TRYON—The Foothills Music Club met on Thursday, May 8, at Holy Cross Episcopal Church. The majority of members participated in this final program of the 2024-2025 season. The theme, “Branching Out,” gave members the opportunity to try something different from what they usually perform.

New to the club were selections on a concertina and a bagpipe chanter, as well as some original songs. Also included were the usual instruments such as piano, organ, harmonica, violin, recorder, guitar, bassoon, flute, and trumpet. There was a variety of vocal solos ranging from amusing ones to serious ones. Many styles of music from the 1700s to the contemporary were represented.

The Foothills Music Club meetings will resume in September. Anyone interested in becoming a member of the club should contact Elaine Jenkins at ejenkins@windstream.net.
