The recent Polk Cares 4 Kids fundraiser proved a record success for Polk County Schools.

The event, held in February at Tryon International Equestrian Center, raised more than $62,000. The PC4K event is an effort to raise funds to help with the significant costs associated with extracurricular experiences, arts programming and athletics participation provided to students throughout Polk County Schools at no charge to them or their families.

Polk County Schools Superintendent Aaron Greene expressed his thanks to TIEC for hosting the event as well as AdventHealth Polk for serving as the lead sponsor of the evening.

“On behalf of all our students, staff and schools, I want to thank all those who donated items, helped run the event or attended and participated,” Greene said. “The philanthropic spirit of this community never ceases to amaze me, and Polk County seems to always step up for our kids.

“This year’s event was no exception. The proceeds from the Polk Cares 4 Kids Fundraiser helps us continue to provide special experiences at no cost for our academic programs and sports teams when they represent Polk County Schools at regional, state and national competitions. Thank you, Polk County, for caring for our kids!”
