TRYON—The Tryon Downtown Development Association’s 4th Friday event on April 25 marked an eventful evening, with downtown filled from Trade Street to Pacolet Street with artists, studio openings, wine tastings, live music, and more.

The highlight of the night was the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Monica Stevenson Photography Studio and the new Photography & Digital Media Department at the Tryon Arts & Crafts School. The ceremony was hosted by the TDDA at the new studio, located at 112 N. Trade Street, which promises to become another creative hub within the community.

Guests mingled while enjoying live music from Chartreuse, hors d’oeuvres, and drinks, all while getting a glimpse of the new space. Since the studio also serves as the digital photography hub for the TACS, interested individuals can complete a student interest form to explore a variety of options, all taught by Stevenson, whose impressive portfolio includes work with clients such as Coca-Cola and Vogue.
