TRYON—The halls of Tryon Elementary School were filled with laughter and creativity on Friday as third-grade students hosted their annual Idiom Parade.
As part of their language arts curriculum, students have been learning about idioms — phrases that don’t mean exactly what they say. To celebrate their understanding, each student selected an idiom and dressed up to represent its literal meaning, turning familiar sayings into eye-catching costumes.
Parents and fellow students lined the halls to watch the third graders proudly parade through the school, showcasing both their knowledge and imagination.
