GOLF: Jackson’s 82 leads Polk effort at Bright’s Creek

Polk County placed third in Wednesday’s boys golf tri-match at Bright’s Creek, posting a team score of 392 behind Mitchell (330) and East Rutherford (356).

Polk’s Tourin Jackson delivered another standout performance for the Wolverines, firing an 82 to tie for second place individually with Mitchell’s Peyton Pitman. Mitchell’s Eli Snyder claimed medalist honors with a 75, while East Rutherford was led by Hayden Francis, who carded an 84.

Brody Wilkins posted Polk County’s second-best score of the day with a 95, followed closely by Piercen Edwards with a 97. Aiden Billings (113), Tanner Osborn (111), and Addie Buss (118) rounded out the Wolverines’ lineup.

Mitchell demonstrated its depth by placing three golfers among the top five individuals, with Tate Pitman shooting an 86 to secure fifth place.

The Wolverines will return to action quickly, competing Thursday in a tri-match with Landrum and Broome at Links O’Tryon beginning at 4 p.m.
