Meet-and-greet with Shannon Baldwin set for next month
LANDRUM—At the most recent Landrum City Council meeting, officials announced the hiring of Shannon Baldwin as the new city administrator.
Baldwin has nearly 30 years of experience in public administration with expertise in planning, zoning, finance, and public works, and he brings a strong track record of effectively managing municipal operations.
“I’m excited about being in Landrum and getting to know the community, its people, and local businesses,” Baldwin stated upon his appointment.
Hailing from Hendersonville, Baldwin grew up working on his family’s small farm. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science/Business and a Master’s in Public Administration from Clemson University. Baldwin is happily married to his high school sweetheart, Beth, and they have two children, Will and Anna. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, reading, hiking, and spending quality moments with his family.
“Landrum is extremely fortunate to have Shannon as our next city administrator,” Mayor Briggs said. “ His previous experience in small towns like Lake Lure, Banner Elk, and Highlands, particularly during times of growth and transition, will be invaluable to our community. As we continue with initiatives such as Rails to Trails and smart development projects, it’s crucial to ensure that these plans benefit both our current and future residents and business owners.”
The City of Landrum will host a meet-and-greet event welcoming Baldwin at the historic Landrum Depot on April 29 from 5 to 7 p.m.
