New holistic direct primary care practice brings root-cause healing to Columbus
COLUMBUS—White Oak Medicine, a new holistic direct primary care practice, will open in downtown Columbus on March 10. The practice will hold an official ribbon cutting and open house on Saturday, March 8, from 12 to 4 p.m.
Founded by Veronica Johnson, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC, White Oak Medicine will offer a holistic, patient-led approach to healthcare and whole-person wellness. The practice aims to provide an alternative to rushed, insurance-driven healthcare by offering membership-based, root-cause healing for the mind and body. Services include direct primary care, safe medication tapering when appropriate, metabolic and lifestyle medicine, stress and nervous system regulation, auricular acupuncture, community process groups, movement and meditation classes, and more.
Following the noon ribbon-cutting ceremony, the community is invited to explore the space, meet Johnson, and learn about the new practice.
“Patient-centered care means moving beyond symptom management to true healing,” said Johnson, a licensed medical provider. “Too often, healthcare focuses on quick fixes instead of addressing the deeper causes of illness. My goal is to change that by providing unrushed, whole-person care that empowers people to take control of their health.”
In addition to blending direct primary care with holistic and functional medicine, White Oak Medicine will introduce a heart-mind approach, recognizing the deep connection between emotional health and cardiovascular function.
“Chronic stress and trauma are major risk factors for both mental health struggles and heart disease—yet conventional medicine often treats these issues separately,” Johnson explains. “At White Oak Medicine, the Heart-Mind Approach integrates nervous system regulation, metabolic and lifestyle medicine, and whole-person healing to support both mental and cardiovascular wellness.”
Open house guests will tour the new space, learn about services and membership options, enjoy refreshments, and connect with the community. The one-time admin fee will be waived for the first 20 members who sign up.
White Oak Medicine is located at 155 W. Mills St., Suite #103, in Columbus. For more information, visit whiteoakmedicine.com, call or text 828-367-7498, or email veronica@whiteoakmedicine.com.
