Polk County’s offense was balanced throughout the lineup, with Kinsley Lancaster contributing a 3-for-5 performance and both Laney Littlefield and Junie Mitchell each adding two hits. Addison Queen delivered a key two-run double during the Wolverines’ scoring barrage.

After a scoreless first inning, Polk County established control with a run in the second and four more in the third to build a 5-0 advantage. East Henderson (0-1) mounted a comeback effort with four runs in the fifth and three in the sixth, but the Wolverines answered decisively each time, including an eight-run explosion in the final frame.

Miya Jackson contributed to the offensive showcase with a 2-for-4 day including an RBI, while Emma Hayford also recorded a hit for the Wolverines.

Polk County also fielded a junior varsity team for the first time in several seasons and earned a 20-5 victory in that team’s debut. Game details were not available.

Polk County will return to action Saturday, hosting Rosman at 9 a.m. in the opening game of the Stott’s Ford Tournament.
