Annual fundraiser to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Polk County
FOOTHILLS—As spring approaches, it’s time again to dust off those bowling shoes. Tarheel Lanes in Hendersonville will host Bowl For Kids’ Sake on Saturday, March 8, an annual fundraiser with proceeds benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Polk County.
“Bowl For Kids’ Sake is not just about bowling. It’s an essential fundraiser to pair kids with mentors who make a difference in their lives,” said BBBS Board member Bill Smith. “The event merges community spirit, creativity, and a shared mission to help children thrive.”
This year’s theme, “Yabba Dabba Do,” encourages participants to channel their inner Stone Age spirit and dress up in imaginative prehistoric costumes. Participants will have a chance to win prizes for the best creative attire.
Bowling teams for the event will include 4 to 5 members, with each team member encouraged to raise a minimum of $50 in donations. This collective effort aims for a team goal of $250. Every dollar raised will directly support local mentoring programs.
Once donations are secured, participants will join BBBS at the bowling alley for a day of two bowling games and lunch for the entire team. The event promises laughter, fun, and an opportunity to connect with the community while supporting a worthy cause. The anticipation of seeing creative costumes adds extra excitement to each bowling event.
