A whole-home generator, an all-wheel drive Ford Ecosport and a beach house rental are among the items up for bid at the upcoming Polk Cares 4 Kids fundraiser, set for Feb. 8 at Tryon International Equestrian Center.
The live auction will feature a 2020 Ecosport SES 4WD donated by Stott’s Ford and a 22-kilowatt whole-home generator from Becker Electric. Outdoor enthusiasts can bid on a golf cart or a Saluda Adventure Package that includes two nights of accommodations plus waterfall rappelling and zipline tours.
Other notable items include two quarters of beef from Buch Farms, a Bright’s Creek Stay and Play Package and a VIP experience at TIEC’s Saturday Night Lights event. A beach house rental at Bald Head Island is also available.
Local artisans have contributed custom-made cutting boards, artwork and hand-crafted knives. The auction also includes rounds of golf at various local courses, gift certificates to area restaurants and retailers and tickets to theater productions, sporting events and children’s activities.
The fundraiser supports extracurricular activities, arts programming and athletics across Polk County Schools. Unlike many districts that have reduced funding for these programs or implemented participation fees, Polk County Schools provides these opportunities to all students at no cost.
Individual tickets are $150, couples tickets are $200 and table sponsorships are available for $1,000. The evening begins with a reception at 5 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. The live auction starts at 7:30 p.m., with entertainment continuing until 10 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased at Stearns Education Center, Polk County Middle School and Polk County High School.
