SALUDA—The stage is set for aspiring performers, as auditions for Mountain Page Theatre’s production of the musical “Oliver!” and Variety Show have been announced. 

Auditions for “Oliver!” will take place on January 29 at 6 p.m. and January 30 at 3:30 p.m. These auditions are open to all ages, providing a fantastic opportunity for both seasoned actors and newcomers alike. “Oliver!” is a timeless production highlighting themes of adventure and friendship, promising an enjoyable experience for audiences of all ages. Performances are scheduled for early November.

Additionally, the Variety Show is calling for performers who have ever dreamed of performing their favorite Broadway or Disney songs on stage. This event will feature a mix of group numbers, solos, and special medleys, ultimately creating an evening of musical entertainment suitable for all ages. Already confirmed acts include a “Wicked” medley, “Tomorrow” from “Annie,” and ensemble performances from “Shrek the Musical.” 

Participants should note that ages eight and up are eligible for solo performances, while ages five and up can take part in a children’s ensemble. All songs selected for the Variety Show must come from Broadway or Disney-style musicals, and performances will be subject to approval from the director and production team. 

The Variety Show will take place on select dates in May, with three performances at Mountain Page Theater and a special fourth performance at the Albino Skunk Music Festival in Greer.
