Last week, a generous donation was given to continue the ongoing effort to help Polk County build a YMCA facility to serve the community.
Timken Foundation donated $100,000 to the project.
The YMCA of Greater Spartanburg and Polk County officials accepted the donation.
Over the past few months, more and more information has been released about this ongoing project. Polk County will own the building, and the YMCA will manage and operate the facility and programs.
The YMCA has received many generous donations from organizations and individuals, totaling over $3 million, to go towards building the Tennant YMCA of Polk County recreational facility. The groundbreaking will be in 2025.
