The amazing North Carolina photographer Bayard Wootten visited Tryon a number of times in the 1930s to photograph the people, architecture, and natural beauty of our town and its surroundings. One photograph in the exhibit currently showing at TACS is seen here and remains unidentified. Do you think you might recognize the place where Wootten shot this scene?
If so, please let us know by writing TACS at administrator@tryonartsandcrafts.org.
Curated by Lili Corbus (art historian and TACS Board member) and Will Barclift (TACS Director), Light and Air: Bayard Wootten’s Photographs of Tryon, Western North Carolina, and Beyond is currently on view at Tryon Arts and Crafts School until October 18.
