FENCE to host dementia, Alzheimer’s discussion Saturday

Dr. Cindy Kheen to lead informative talk
TRYON—On Saturday, August 17, an informative discussion regarding dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease will take place at Foothills Equestrian Nature Center. The discussion will be led by Dr. Cindy Keehn, an experienced physical therapist who has spent most of her career working in assisted living and nursing facilities.
Dr. Keehn will be sharing her knowledge and experiences about the diseases, which affect roughly 1 in 10 people ages 65 and older, as well sharing techniques for better improving interactions with people who suffer from dementia and Alzheimer’s.
Additionally, Dr. Kheen and several organizations will inform guests about what they can do to further assist families who have a loved one suffering from the diseases.
The discussion will begin at 10 a.m. in the Great Room at FENCE. Foothills Equestrian Nature Center is located at 3381 Hunting Country Rd. in Tryon.
