Owner Steve Pruette has launched a fully equipped kitchen at the Mill Spring Crossings shopping center, located at 82 N. Hwy 9, Suite 1, offering pizza, hot dogs, burgers, and breakfast items.

After purchasing Mill Spring Crossings several years ago, Pruette conceptualized the expansion of Crossroads Ice Cream and Coffee, transforming the space into a full-service coffee house while keeping the signature ice cream offerings intact. Pruette introduced a new covered outdoor seating area, integrated a Hunts Brothers Pizza and Wings franchise, and further augmented the food choices by installing a full kitchen to cater to the dining needs of the Mill Spring community, which has been in need of more options for some time.

“A lot of customers will come to get their coffee and breakfast and sit out and watch the sun come up while enjoying their food,” says kitchen manager Barabra Sane.

In addition to its coffee options, Crossroads now offers breakfast, with a selection featuring traditional biscuits and a popular breakfast platter that has quickly become a favorite among guests.

They still offer over 30 flavors of Hershey’s Ice Cream, including no-sugar-added and lactose-free options. Visitors can enjoy milkshakes, banana splits, and hot fudge sundaes. Crossroads is also equipped with wi-fi and USB ports, providing a convenient space for individuals to work while enjoying their coffee.

“I love it here in Mill Spring, and we’ve already received tremendous support from the area, as well as from those in Lake Lure and Chimney Rock,” Pruette says. “Situated at one of the busiest intersections in Polk County, we hope people passing through will take the time to visit us up on the hill.”

Crossroads Ice Cream and Coffee’s operating hours are 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. For more information, visit their Instagram page, @crossroadsicecreamcoffee, or follow them on Facebook.
