Concerts to take place at newly renovated amphitheater in Saluda
SALUDA— The Top of the Grade concert series is set to return next Friday, June 14, at the newly renovated amphitheater at McCreery Park in Saluda. The concert series is made possible by a grant from the Polk County Community Foundation.
Kicking things off with the first concert of the season will be David Childers and the Serpents, who has performed across the region for over 20 years and has been included in the setlists of popular music festivals such as MerleFest, AmericanaFest, the Albino Skunk Festival and more.
With Childers’ lyrics deeply rooted to his southern heritage, listeners say that his tunes have a folk rock and country music sound. Childers’ unique style and songwriting abilities even earned him collaborations with grammy-nominated folk rock band, The Avett Brothers. Childers performed his song, “The Prettiest Thing,” live on stage in Greensboro with the band, which they have covered since 2011.
The Top of the Grade Concert Series will continue with Bob Sinclar and the Big Deals on July 12 and conclude with Queen Bee and the Honey Lovers on August 9.
The Top of the Grade Concert series is overseen by the Saluda Downtown Foundation, Inc. with support from the City of Saluda. The Saluda Downtown Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the arts, beautification, historic preservation, cultural development, and economic development in downtown Saluda.
