In Polk County District Court on March 27, 2024 with Judge Gene Johnson presiding, 151 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.  

 

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

 

Edjua Dogget-Edwards was convicted of injury to real property. Dogget-Edwards was sentenced to three days in jail, with three days credit time served.

 

Christopher Brown was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ oz. Brown was fined $25 plus court costs.

 

James Carroll Adkins was convicted of felony breaking and entering. Adkins was sentenced to one day in jail, with one day credit time served.

 

Eric Lewis McCraw was convicted of misdemeanor assault inflicting serious injury and misdemeanor assault on a female. McCraw was sentenced to 30 days in jail, suspended for 12 months of supervised probation. 

 

Preston Kyle Morrow was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Morrow was fined $25 plus court costs.

 

Paul Sokil was convicted of assault by strangulation. Sokil was sentenced to 30 days in jail, suspended for 18 months of supervised probation and must complete a substance abuse assessment.

In Polk County District Court on April 8, 2024 with Judge Abe Hudson presiding, 115 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.  

 

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

 

Michael Ryan Bishop was convicted of misdemeanor assault of a female. Bishop was sentenced to 10 days in jail, with 10 days credit time served. 

 

Ryan Alexander Green was convicted of felony assault by strangulation. Green was sentenced to 9 to 20 months in jail, suspended for 12 months of supervised probation. Green must also attend anger management classes and pay court costs.

 

Miguel Jimeniz Lozada was convicted of driving while impaired. Lozada was sentenced to 30 days in jail, suspended for 12 months of unsupervised probation. Lozada must also complete a substance abuse assessment, 24 hours of community service and was fined $50 plus court costs.

 

Antonio Montez King was convicted of carrying a concealed gun. King was sentenced to one day in jail, with one day credit time served.

 

Isaac Jordan Medford was convicted of simple possession of a schedule II controlled substance. Medford was sentenced to 30 days in jail, suspended for 18 months of supervised probation. 

 

Lauren Partlow was convicted of defrauding a drug or alcohol test. Partlow was sentenced to 30 days in jail.

 

Emily Nichole Shell was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Shell was sentenced to one day in jail, with one day credit time served. 

 

Michael David Thompson was convicted of breaking and entering and fleeing/eluding arrest. Thompson was sentenced to 8 to 19 months in jail.
