Downtown Tryon to offer Irish-themed entertainment
TRYON—The third annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place in Downtown Tryon on Sunday, March 17. The parade will start at Rogers Park and make its way through downtown to New Market Rd., offering paradegoers the opportunity to enjoy the event while wearing green and spending gold in the many shops and restaurants that Tryon has to offer.
Founded in 2022 by Peg Brunk and Greg Lobas, the co-founders wanted to bring an Irish-themed atmosphere to Tryon after realizing the town didn’t have an official St. Patrick’s Day parade. Their goal was to bring a celebration to Tryon that resembled festivities in their hometowns of Chicago and Cleveland, complete with bagpipes, fiddlers, kilts and leprechauns.
In its third year, Brunk and Lobas look forward to another successful turnout, during which people can enjoy the downtown atmosphere and Irish entertainment.
Presenting sponsors for the event include Suzanne Devane with the Asheville Realty Group, The Knights of Columbus Council 9492, MDB Counseling Services and the Tryon Downtown Development Association.
The parade will kick off at 2 p.m., and attendees should plan to stay after the parade to enjoy entertainment and hospitality at the various eateries and stores that will remain open that evening.
