In Polk County District Court on January 30 and February 7, 2024, with Judge Lora Baker presiding over both courts, 195 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.
The following persons were convicted of a crime:
Cynthia Lynn Askew was convicted of hit and run with leaving the scene with property damage. Askew was fined $30 plus court costs.
Lisa Karen Bullman was convicted of unsafe movement. Bullman was fined $25 plus court costs.
Melissa Danielle Earp was convicted of having no operator’s license. Earp was fined $30 plus court costs.
Destiney Shields was convicted of driving without a license. Shields was fined $25 plus court costs.
Skip James Watson was convicted of possession of a controlled substance on prison or jail premises. Watson was sentenced to 12 to 24 months in jail, suspended for 18 months of supervised probation, with 41 days credit time served.
Ridge Wilkerson was convicted of having no operator’s license. Wilkerson was fined $10 plus court costs.
Shaina Candace Young was convicted of possession of marijuana 1/2 oz to 1 1/2 oz. Young was sentenced to one day in jail, with one day credit time served.
Luke Isaac Barnes was convicted of reckless driving to endanger. Barnes was fined $50 plus court costs.
Andrew David Crocker was convicted of driving while impaired. Crocker was sentenced to 60 days in jail, suspended for 12 months of unsupervised probation. Crocker must also complete 48 hours of community service, a substance abuse assessment and was fined $200 plus court costs.
William Jordan Daniel was convicted of possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell or distribute. Daniel was convicted of 7 to 18 months in jail, suspended for 18 months of supervised probation. Daniel must also complete a substance abuse assessment and was fined $200 plus court costs.
Luke Shane Milan was convicted of aggressive driving. Milan was sentenced to 45 days in jail, suspended for 12 months of supervised probation. Milan must also complete driving school, a substance abuse assessment, and 48 hours of community service and was fined $300 plus court costs.
Anwanette Miller was convicted of reckless driving with wanton disregard. Miller was fined $50 plus court costs.
Donald Naylor was convicted of uprooting a protected plant. Naylor was fined $100 plus court costs.
