Eastside Community commemorates MLK’s legacy

- Krishna N. Alexander will be the keynote speaker at a celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy on January 13 at Garrison Chapel Baptist Church.

The Eastside Community will commemorate the continuing legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Saturday, January 13, at 6 p.m., at the Garrison Chapel Baptist Church on Markham Road.
The program will feature a tribute by youth representatives of the community, along with keynote speaker Miss Krishna N. Alexander, a first-year law student at the University of South Carolina School of Law.
Alexander is a graduate of Dorman High School and a magna cum laude graduate of USC Columbia where she was active in a number of student organizations. She is the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Earl N. Alexander of the Garrison Chapel Baptist Church. Music for the occasion will be by the USC-Upstate Gospel Choir. All are invited to come out and be inspired by the young people.
Garrison Chapel Baptist Church is located at 416 Markham Rd. in Tryon.
