SPARTANBURG CO.—At a press conference on Friday, December 1, the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office announced results from a recent highway enforcement campaign, Operation Rolling Thunder.
The campaign took place from November 27 to November 30, and led to the arrest of four wanted fugitives. Approximately 150 police officers from ten agencies conducted the operation.
Officers stopped 686 passenger vehicles, 45 buses and 109 commercial motor vehicles during the campaign.
During the operation, over 20 pounds of marijuana, 200 pounds of cocaine and five pounds of fentanyl were seized. Additionally, 2.5 grams of methamphetamine, 11.5 grams of prescription drugs, 84 grams of mushrooms and five grams of ecstasy were confiscated.
Stolen firearms and $505,102 in cash were also seized during the campaign. In total, 30 arrests were made.
