In Polk County District Court on November 15, 2023, with Judge Kimberly Justice presiding, 162 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.
The following persons were convicted of a crime:
Cayden Joshua Bemis was convicted of driving while impaired. Bemis was sentenced to 60 days in jail, suspended for 12 months of unsupervised probation. Bemis must also complete 24 hours of community service, and was fined $200 plus court costs.
Robert Waye Boyles was convicted of felony possession of marijuana. Boyles was fined $100 plus court costs.
Daniel Chinchar was convicted of attempted possession of a firearm by a felon. Chinchar was sentenced to 7 to 18 months in jail, suspended for 18 months of supervised probation, with 20 days credit time served.
Antione Counts was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Counts was sentenced to one day in jail, with one day credit time served.
Kelly Taylor George was convicted of trafficking methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine with intention to sell or deliver. George was sentenced to 6 to 17 months in jail, suspended for 24 months of supervised probation.
Carolyn Weatherly was convicted of failure to wear a seat belt. Weatherly was fined $25.
Emily Hinojosa was convicted of an open container of alcohol violation. Hinojosa was fined $100 plus court costs.
Keven Lee Murphy was convicted of driving without a license. Murphy was fined $30 plus court costs.
Carlie Grace Peace was convicted of driving while impaired. Peace was sentenced to 60 days in jail, suspended for 12 months of unsupervised probation. Peace must also complete 48 hours of community service, and was fined $300 plus court costs.
Kent Morgan Shehan was convicted of injuring or tampering with a vehicle. Shehan was sentenced to 20 days in jail, suspended for 12 months of unsupervised probation. Shehan was also fined $10 plus court costs, and is ordered not to be on or about the property of Erin Carmichael.
Sussie Ann Tipton was convicted of shoplifting/concealment of goods. Tipton was sentenced to one day in jail, with one day credit time served.
Timothy Watkins was convicted of driving without a license. Watkins was sentenced to one day in jail, with one day credit time served.
Camas Scott Whitfield was convicted of fleeing or eluding arrest with a motor vehicle. Whitfield was sentenced to 6 to 17 months in jail, with four days credit time served.
