Proceeds go towards maintenance and improvements of Polk County Trails
COLUMBUS— Next month the Polk County Recreation Department will be hosting an inaugural Holiday Kids Makers Market event where kids can showcase and sell their art, crafts and other goods. The event will be held on Saturday, December 2 at Stearns Gym from 10 a.m to 2 p.m.
The cost to buy a booth for the event will be $5, with all proceeds going towards maintenance and improvements of Polk County Trails. All makers must supply their own tables and signs for set-up, which will begin at 9:30 a.m. All forms of payment will be accepted while selling goods at the market including cash and all major forms of electronic payment.
All items sold at the market must be hand-made by kids. Reselling items, parent-made items and commercially made items will not be accepted. Food items will only be accepted if they were made in a certified kitchen.
“We hope this helps little ones learn about creating things that they love and entrepreneurship so that they can learn early on,” says Lourdes Gutierrez, Polk County Recreation Assistant.

Stearns Gym is located 105 N Peak St. in Columbus.
