In Polk County District Court on June 14, 2023, with Judge Emily Cowan presiding, 89 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court. 

 

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

 

Justin Steven Ford was convicted of simple possession of a schedule 6 controlled substance. Ford was fined $25 plus court costs.

 

Travis Jerell Jordan was convicted of possession of a controlled substance on prison or jail premises. Jordan was sentenced to 8 to 19 months in jail, with 13 days pretrial credit.

 

Edward Manzyuk was convicted of reckless driving to endanger. Manzyuk was fined $50 plus court costs.

 

Aries Dashawn McRae was convicted of possession of marijuana paraphernalia. McRae was sentenced to one day in jail, time served.

 

Bonnie Watts Smith was convicted of possession of an open container in a passenger area. Smith was fined $25 plus court costs.
