COLUMBUS–Southern Manners Restaurant, a family-owned breakfast and lunch spot located at 192 E. Mills St. in Columbus, recently celebrated its 10th anniversary in operation. The restaurant, known for its homemade comfort food and friendly atmosphere, has become a local staple over the past decade.
Owners Pat and Trish Overholt have a long history of cooking and hospitality. Growing up in Mennonite families, they were raised on home-cooked meals and made-from-scratch everything. After years in construction, Pat and Trish began catering small events in their community. Their reputation grew, and soon they were catering large events out of their home, eventually opening Southern Manners Restaurant, fulfilling a lifelong dream.
“We treasure the customers that have become friends and the many new people we have met,” the Overholt family wrote on Facebook. “Our goal has been to be a blessing and serve good food, and we have so much fun doing it. We can’t wait to see what God has in store for us in the next ten years!”
The restaurant’s deli offers top-quality meats, cheeses and other deli favorites, while the bakery serves up cakes, pies and cookies. There are also vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. Southern Manners offers takeout along with online ordering through its website, making it easy for customers to enjoy their food from the comfort of their homes.
Manager Bryce Fletcher said, “I’ve only been here three months, but I love the culture here, and it’s one of the main reasons for the restaurant’s decade of success. This is a place where everyone is friendly, and when they leave, they leave with a smile and a full stomach.”
Southern Manners Restaurant is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. For more information, visit www.restaurantji.com/nc/columbus/southern-manners-deli-/.
