Crews are scheduled to begin clearing several waterways in Polk County through a state-funding project called the Streamflow Rehabilitation Assistance Program (“StRAP”).
The Polk County Board of Commissioners has approved several contracts with companies to perform these tasks. Work will include vegetation removal, clearing of beaver dams, unclogging high-flow culvert and pump-around systems, and clearing wood debris.
Staff will be contacting property owners along waterways asking for a temporary construction easement if workers need to cross their land to get to the waterways.
Work is scheduled to begin in April.
