Taylor Collins wins $3,000 on “Let’s Make a Deal”
GREEN CREEK- On Tuesday’s episode of the TV game show “Let’s Make a Deal,” a Polk County native won $3,000 while representing her hometown.
Taylor Collins, 29 of Green Creek, was introduced on the TV show wearing a cow costume, as silly outfits are a part of the well-known game show.
“I’ve been a fan of ‘Let’s Make a Deal’ since I was a little kid,” Taylor said. “When I saw they were casting for season 14 I immediately applied.”
Collins told the show’s host, Wayne Brady, that Polk County was known for its farmland, and shared a story of how she was late to school many times because of “cows causing traffic jams.”
Collins appeared as one of the show’s “At-Homies,” in which contestants play the game virtually from home.
The game that Collins played required her to quickly find three random objects in her home, and for each object that she had she would win $500.
The three items were eye makeup, a bandage and a mug with a city’s name on it. Collins quickly located all three items, including an Iron Key Brewing Company mug, earning her the win.
“I owe Iron Key Brewing a huge shout out,” said Collins on Wednesday. “If it wasn’t for my fiancé winning the mug at trivia night I probably wouldn’t have made it to the final round.”
After winning the game, Collins had a decision to make. She could either take the $1,500 she had already won, or open an envelope with a mystery reward, potentially winning a gag gift instead of the cash.
Collins chose to open the envelope and won an additional $1,500 in prize money.
“I never in a million years expected to make it on the show, much less actually be picked to play by Wayne Brady himself,” Collins said. “I think he was a fan of my ‘holy cow’ costume and my story about Polk County.”
