Polk County District Court results – March 8, 2023

In Polk County District Court on March 8, 2023, with Judge Emily Cowan presiding, 94 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.  

 

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Peter Anthony Adija was convicted of speeding. Adija was fined $105 plus court costs.

 

Miriam Adrian Alvarez was convicted of speeding. Alvarez was fined $30 plus court costs.

 

Roberty Byron Eury was convicted of driving while impaired. Eury was sentenced to 60 days of jail, suspended for 12 months of unsupervised probation, and 24 hours of community service, and fined $100 plus court costs.

 

Jay Fletcher Fowler was convicted of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Fowler was sentenced to 120 days in jail, with 30 days credit time served.

 

Jody Hyatt was convicted of possession of methamphetamine. Hyatt was sentenced to 12 months of supervised probation and must complete a drug abuse treatment program.

 

Brian Travis Kimbrell was convicted of resisting a public officer. Kimbrell was sentenced to 10 days in jail, suspended for 12 months of unsupervised probation, and fined $25 plus court costs.

 

Silvio McDowell-Thomas was convicted of probation violation. McDowell-Thomas to 45 days in jail with 13 days credit time served.

 

Faustino Velazquez was convicted of resisting a public officer. Velazquez was sentenced to 3 days in jail, with the full time served.

 

William Britton West was convicted of simple assault. West was sentenced to 15 days in jail, with 15 days credit time served, and was ordered to have no contact with the victim.

 

Robert Vincent Worth was convicted of first degree trespassing. Worth was sentenced to 50 days in jail, with 50 days credit time served, and was ordered to have no contact with the victim.
