Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The set crew is hard at work for the Tryon Little Theater’s upcoming show, “State Fair.”

Lindsey Moore, coordinator and set designer, has a trusted group of able-bodied people to help, but with injuries, illnesses, and the odd vacation throwing a wrench in the works, he would love to expand his crew.

“I’m looking for anyone who’s handy with a drill or hammer; someone who likes tools and loves to build or fix things,” says Moore. “We need painters too, whether it’s painting artistically or just slapping color on a wall. This would be perfect for a retiree, or even a student wanting to learn more about construction – and especially set construction. We usually meet on Tuesdays between 10 and noon, but if we can get some students involved we could also meet on Saturdays from noon to 2 p.m.”

Needless to say, the set is an integral part of theater magic, and although the crew doesn’t get to walk on stage for a final bow, they deserve accolades too. So next time you’re clapping and stamping your feet at the end of a show, send up a few more rounds of applause for them.

Meanwhile, if you think you can help out for a few hours now and then when sets are being created, please contact Lindsey Moore via email at lindseyartist1@gmail.com, or leave a message at (828) 859-2466.
