Landrum and Gowensville fire departments assisted GMFD in controlling the large fire. Chief Warren Ashmore at Landrum Fire Department said the mobile home was about 90 percent gone when LFD arrived on scene.

“To get that far gone, it had to be burning for a little bit. There was no salvaging anything,” Chief Ashmore said.

The home was a total loss, according to officials. It was not currently occupied, so no one was inside the home when the fire started, and no injuries were reported.

Firefighters worked on scene for about three hours to extinguish the fire. They sprayed a layer of foam over the foundation of the home to prevent the fire from starting again due to what might have been still burning underneath.

The building close beside the mobile home sustained mild damage to the roofline during the fire.

Greenville County EMS was also on scene, and Tryon Fire Department was on standby for calls for Landrum and Gowensville fire departments.
