Washburn Law in Tryon under investigation

TRYON–According to a press release from the Tryon Police Department, officials recently opened an investigation into Washburn Law, PLLC after receiving numerous complaints.
The press release states that the complaints stem from real estate closings that the law firm was responsible for. Currently, there are 14 reports regarding issues that came about because of these closings, according to officials
The North Carolina State Bar is now involved, as well as the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The N.C. State Bar’s role in the matter will be to determine if there are any ethics violations by attorney(s) associated with the firm, and the FBI was requested to assist in the investigation due to the possibility of the investigation stemming outside of North Carolina.
The corporate office of Washburn Law, PLLC is located at 136 Pacolet Street in downtown Tryon. Washburn Law, PLLC has worked with clients across the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and West Virginia, and the law firm has handled all types of real estate matters, according to LawCrossing.com.
