Recently annexed land still awaiting second reading from Council
LANDRUM––Last March, Landrum City Council held a first reading to annex a portion of unincorporated acreage of Spartanburg County into the City of Landrum.
Property owner Bill Robinson requested the annexation for the 9.88 acres, and 6.41 acres was annexed. The second and final reading has not yet occurred.
On September 28, Landrum City Council held their regular meeting, where Landrum Architectural Design Review Board discussed development of a new Dollar General building at 1509 East Rutherford Street. Robinson corresponded with Dollar General about building a new store on 2.07 acres of the parcel. He asked the city to allow Dollar General to present their design to the Design and Review Board prior to the second and final reading. After reviewing the design plan, the board approved.
The proposal is still under review by the City of Landrum. The site plan includes a 10,640 square-foot structure with a parking lot with 35 spaces.
The time of the second and final reading has yet to be determined.
