Polk County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee and Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee gave local 5th graders farm safety lessons on; eye safety, ear safety, skin protection, slow moving vehicles, and one seat – one rider, during the high schools Ag Day Safety event. 5th graders from all Polk County schools got to tour the high school farm, learn about the FFA program, and farm safety. Polk County Farm Bureau sponsored the event by providing T-shirts for the FFA, teachers, and volunteers for the event. The women’s committee provided safety goodie bags and water bottles for the students, to help teach the importance of always staying safe and hydrated on the farm.
