Polk County EMT retires after 31 years
COLUMBUS—The Polk County Board of Commissioners recently honored an EMT who retired and other county employees who have reached milestones in their employment.
Darrin Cronan was honored for his 31 years of service to the county as he is retiring. Cronan began employment with the Polk County First Responders in January 1987. He was in the first paramedic classes in the state to serve in Polk County and was one of the first National Registered Paramedics to serve full-time in Polk County.
Commissioners recognized Cronan and other employees who have served the county long-term during their December meeting.
Employees recognized have worked with the county for 5, 10, 15 and 20, etc. years.
County commissioners said the long-term employees are the backbone of Polk’s local government and are appreciated for the service they provide to the county.
